About Galloway, OH - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Galloway, Ohio is a Columbus suburb located in Franklin County. The community was named for Samuel Galloway, who originally purchased the land, and it grew around the railroad station located here. Although Galloway is unincorporated, about 28,000 people reside here. Most of the community is served by Southwestern City School Districts, although the far eastern fringes are covered by Columbus City Schools. Several businesses call Galloway home, including Darby Dan Farm – a large horse training facility known for raising two Kentucky Derby winners.
While there are many major attractions located in nearby Columbus, there are plenty of things to see and do in Galloway. The Trap History Museum offers more than 4,000 trap displays as well as early fur trade items, tools, and books. The Galloway Tavern is a local bar and grill, and other local dining establishments include Oak Grove Tavern, Ten Mile Inn, Dragon House, and Tres Potrillos. Golf enthusiasts may like to visit Mentel Memorial Golf Course, and locals looking to get on a new hobby should check out USA Martial Arts Southwest.
Located in the Midwestern U.S., Galloway is known for its transitional climate zone. Winters here are cold but dry, and the area does not receive as much snowfall as other parts of the state. However, frigid temperatures are common, with average highs of only about 36 degrees Fahrenheit in January. Overnight lows fall into the 20s or colder, so it is crucial that residents prepare with a reliable gas or electric furnace at home.
Summer weather in Galloway is great for spending time outdoors, as temperatures are warm to hot. Average daily highs reach the mid-80s, but humidity levels can be high. Central air conditioning can make a major difference for indoor comfort levels during this time, and systems with a high SEER rating can save residents on their monthly cooling costs.
